The Catalan capital is easily one of the most beautiful and powerful cities in Spain. It is filled with life, colour and culture unlike anywhere else in the country. Barcelona is one of those essential European cities that you have just got to visit. Just a little warning though, you might never want to leave!

Top 10 things To Do in Barcelona:
1. Sagrada Familia
The Sagrada Familia was the church Gaudi never got to finish. It is still under construction, in the city center, but is with no doubt the most impressive pieces of architecture you'll see in Europe. Viewing the church is a must. You'll have to pay an entrance fee of €20, and I promise you it's worth every cent. Definitely something straight out of a fairytale!
Be sure to check out more of his inspirational work. His buildings stand proudly around the city centre, all of them open for the public (some include: casa Mila, Park Guell, Guell Pallace, Gaudi's crypt, and my personal fave, the breathtaking Casa Batllo).
2. Hit the beach

Walk down the broad-walk!
The beach in Barcelona is a favourite hang out spot for both tourists and locals.
You'll find countless facilities (restaurants, shops, cafes) in the neighbourhood or you can just relax on the lush sand and watch the world go by. The beach is pretty much in the hart of the city, and it's a short walk away from many attractions.
3. Take a stroll on La Rambla

La Rambla is one of the main arteries of the city and it's a must for every first-time visitor. It takes you from the heart of the city to the beach. Here you can find tons of bars and restaurants which are the so called "tourist traps"
4. Food/ Tapas & Bar Hopping

Spain is famous around the world for its mouthwatering food. Personally I think the best way to experience the top culinary masterpieces is with tapas in Barcelona. After all, what's better than getting a little taste of everything on the menu?!
As far as the drinks go, whether you are looking to try the classic Catalan Sangria and listen to Jazz, or party until the sun comes up, Barcelona has got you covered. Just remember that Spanish nightlife starts and ends late so come prepared.
5. Visit Mercado De La Boqueria
One of my absolute favourite spots is the Boqueria Market, the heart and soul of Barcelona locals.
The market is where you'll buy fresh produce, meats, fish and seasoning. There is also a famous cafe in the centre where you can buy authentic Catalan foods, as well as a few other tapas stands where you can grab small bites.
6. Picasso Museum

The Barcelona Picasso Museum is amongst the most impressive ones in Europe, holding over 4000 original works by the artist. It's €12 for access to the entire museum, which is a bargain if you ask me!
7. Tibidabo Theme Park

This is a major attraction for the city of Barcelona, as it sits in the hills of the west, and has a breathtaking view of the stunning city.
8. Explore the Gothic Quarter

Just off La Rambla, this is the most lively area in town. You'll find countless boutiques, trendy cafes and foodie hotspots.
9. Must Visit!
"Parc de la Ciutadella"

"Arc de Triumf"

Just around the Gothic Quarter sits the "Parc de la Ciutadella". The park is beautiful for a walk, a jog, or even an "Instagramable" picnic under the sun.
Have you even been to Barcelona if you didn't photograph the "Arc de Triumf"? This is located on the western entrance of the "Parc de la Ciutadella". It's an iconic part of the city's architecture and marks a central point for this side of town.
10. Montjuic Fountain

Trying to find the perfect end to your day or even your trip? Look no further!
The Magic Fountain of Montjuic is the highest point in Barcelona. You can see the entire city all along to the ocean. It also has a regular sound and light show, definitely worth checking.
