Famous for its crystal clear beaches and great nightlife Mykonos is among the most popular Greek islands. It's not only a great destination for travelers, couples but families also.
Wondering what to do in Mykonos? I have been there recently with my family so I've got you covered! Here is my list of top things to do in Mykonos Island:
1. Mykonos Windmills
Walk here for a panoramic view of Mykonos Town and to get an Insta picture with Mykonian history. These mills have become a symbol for the whole island and are a simple walk to Little Venice.
2. Little Venice
Little Venice is a neighborhood with colorful houses built on the edge on the sea. It took its name due to its resemblance with Venice. It’s also the best place for a cheeky afternoon drink at one of the sea facing cocktail bars whilst soaking up the view.
3. Old Harbour
The picturesque old harbour to Mykonos is a great area to walk around especially at night. There are many restaurants and bars in this area overlooking the sea. Its also the best way place to enjoy a meal whilst enjoying the sunset.
4. Stroll around Mykonos town
Known as Chora (which means 'main town'), Mykonos Town has a photo opportunity at every corner. Its also one of the best shopping scenes in Greece. In the alleways of the town, you can find the most famous designer labels, jewellery shops, leather good as well as shops selling traditional products and souvenirs.
5. Church of Panagia Paraportiani
The Greek islands are full of churches and chapels. There are 365 white-washed churches on Mykonos island alone and the highest dedicated one is dedicated to the Virgin Mary (Panagia) and is easy to pick out for its dome.

6. Matogianni Street
Whilst exploring Mykonos town you will come across picturesque spots around every corner. Matogianni is where it all happens! From here you can wonder off for some more shopping or when hunger strikes you could opt for souvlaki or gyro or a sit down meal at one of the many tavernas, which tend to be more reasonably priced here deeper in the town.

7. Delos Achaeological Museum
After 30 years of excavations the French School of Athens needed a museum for all its discoveries on Delos, and this was inaugurated in 1904. Among the must-sees is a bronze mask of Dionysos, an ivory plaque with a relief of Mycenaean warrior and a magisterial sculpture of Boreas kidnapping Oreithya.

8. Cruise around Rhenia Island
Very close to Mykonos are the two uninhabited islands; Delos with the famous archaeological site and Rhenia with its azure waters. Rhenia island, seperated from the island of Delos with small strait has beautiful beaches with exceptional clear waters.
9. Explore the Island's Pristine Beaches
Mykonos is blessed with golden sand and clear water beaches. The best beaches are on the southern coast of the island, as they're the most protected from the winds. However, those in the north are also beautiful, and are usually less crowed. Some of these include Ornos, Psarrou, Kalafati, Elia and Mykonos Beach.
What better way to enjoy the famous Mykonos sunset then with a cocktail? The 180 degrees sunset bar is the best place to enjoy not only the sunset but also has the best views of the island. Drinks aren't cheap and the service is relaxed; but non of this takes away from the experience. Add in the fantastic live singer and you have an evening to remember!
I hope this has given you a good idea of how to plan your next visit to Mykonos.
Thank you!
